Part comic relief/part political jab, "the daily pill" is an ongoing, four-year-long project that protests the disputed Bush presidential victory at the rate of one digitally-drawn postcard per day, for the duration of the 2000-2004 presidential term. Each image is a digital collage of found web jpegs.

It all started when I found that the act of digitally transplanting Dubya into the wild kingdom eased my frustration over the nasty election results of 2000. What began for me as a political tantrum, however, evolved into a meditation about the artistic process. It has become an experiment in sustaining a long-term work. In a way, it is a daily exercise against political apathy.

MAGDA FERNANDEZ is a visual artist whose thematic installations have been featured in numerous venues, such as Allston Skirt Gallery in Boston, MA and Brewster Project 2003 in Brewster, NY. Her home sweet gated home installation will be exhibited in Miami Art Central this coming May 2004.
